God Attribute, 26

 ~ Fire ~

This Series  ~  This series of posts looks at some of the many attributes of God.  Generally, we move in alphabetical order.

Scripture  ~  “The glory of the Lord was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel” (Exodus 24:17-18).

“For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God” (Deuteronomy 4:24).

“Therefore understand today that the Lord your God is He who goes over before you as a consuming fire.  He will destroy them and bring them down before you; so you shall drive them out and destroy them quickly, as the Lord has said to you” (Deuteronomy 9:3).

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.  For our God is a consuming fire” (Hebrews 12:28-29).

Comment  ~  The ultimate fire is in the future reserved for those who refuse to believe the truth.  However, that fire will be hotter than any we’ve known but it will NOT consume.  It will burn for eternity future.  Have you reserved your spot in eternity with God?

Why Trust God? 20

~ God Is Ultimately in Control of the Weather (Exodus 7of12) ~

Introduction  ~  “Abundant Life Now” previously provided a list of Biblical of examples of fearing / reverencing God (217 posts).  In this current series we look at Biblical accounts that demonstrate that we can fully trust God.  Initially we posted seven general reasons for trusting God.  We are currently looking at passages from all 66 books of Scripture which demonstrate a reason for trusting our Creator.

Scripture  ~  “And Moses stretched out his rod toward heaven; and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and fire darted to the ground.  And the Lord rained hail on the land of Egypt.  So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, so very heavy that there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.  And the hail struck throughout the whole land of Egypt, all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail struck every herb of the field and broke every tree of the field” (Exodus 9:23-25).

Question – Jesus, 144

 ~ Regarding Trouble, 1 ~

Introduction  ~  This series is about questions involving Jesus.  Some were asked by individuals involved with Jesus Christ while He walked on earth.  Others are questions that Jesus Christ asked others.  We will look at questions on over 160 topics (some may split into two or more posts).  Even so, it is far from an exhaustive list.

Scripture  ~  “But when Jesus was aware of it, He said to them, ‘Why do you trouble the woman?  For she has done a good work for Me.  For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always.  For in pouring this fragrant oil on My body, she did it for My burial.  Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her’” (Matthew 26:10-13).
