~ Do You Have Full
Assurance? ~
Full Assurance of Faith
~ “Therefore,
brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new
and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His
flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a
true heart in full assurance of faith,
having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with
pure water. Let us hold fast the
confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let
us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking
the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting
one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews
10:19-25). We can have full assurance because faith rests in Christ’s finished work in
the past.
Full Assurance of Understanding
~ “For
I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you and those in Laodicea,
and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh, that their hearts may be
encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the
knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and
knowledge” (Colossians 2:1-3). We
can have full assurance through learning and understanding Christ’s place in the present.
Full Assurance of Hope
~ “But,
beloved, we are confident of better things concerning you, yes, things that
accompany salvation, though we speak in this manner. For God is not unjust to forget your work and
labor of love which you have shown
toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do
minister. And we desire that each one of
you show the same diligence to the full
assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but
imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises” (Hebrews
6:9-12). We can have full assurance because our hope
[“certainty” is a more accurate modern word] looks onward to Christ’s glory in
the future.
Christ’s work
for His children was in the past, is in the present, and will continue in the
future!
