~ New Treasure ~
Introduction ~ This
series will aid us in understanding some of the many dimensions of possessing new
life through the work of Jesus Christ found in the New Testament (or New
Covenant). The theme for this series is from the book of Lamentations where we
find a great summary verse about our gracious and faithful God.
New
Mercies
~ “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail
not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. ‘The Lord
is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘Therefore I hope in Him!’” (Lamentations
3:22-24).
Scripture ~ “Then He
said to them, ‘Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of
heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new
and old’” (Matthew 13:52).
Comment ~ There is a
vast difference between hearing and understanding. Most Christians will from
time-to-time find some interesting aspect of a passage of Scripture that they
have previously read many times before.
