What Are You Anticipating? ~
While the original Palm Sunday was a day of anticipation, it is
also a day of great expectation for Christians today.
As we celebrate Palm Sunday what are you anticipating? It should be a great expectation!
The original Palm Sunday remembered Jesus’ three-year ministry. It
began a week which climaxed with Celebration Sunday (Easter).
This week is not a time for discouragement, but rather a time for
excitement as we look forward to the next great event on the prophetic calendar
– the rapture of the church when we (members of the true Church universal) will
meet Christ in the air – to live with Him forever in a true paradise.
If, as a Christian, you are not excited about seeing your Savior
and King then read the Easter Story and pray! Let God give you meaningful hope!
Prophetic Scripture 1
~ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of
Jerusalem!
Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, lowly and riding on a donkey,
a colt, the foal of a donkey (Zechariah 9:9)
Fulfillment ~ Now when they drew near
Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two
disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you,
and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Loose them
and bring them to Me. 3 And if anyone says anything to you, you
shall say, “The Lord has need of them,” and immediately he will send them.
4 All this was done that it might be
fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: 5 “Tell the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold,
your King is coming to you, lowly,
and sitting on a donkey, a colt, the
foal of a donkey.’ ”
6 So the disciples went and did as
Jesus commanded them. 7 They brought the donkey and the colt,
laid their clothes on them, and set Him on them. 8 And a very
great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from
the trees and spread them on the
road. 9 Then the multitudes who went before and those who
followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Hosanna in the
highest!”
10 And when He had come into
Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, “Who is this?”
11 So the multitudes said, “This is
Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.” (Matthew 21:1-11, see also Mark
11:1-11, Luke 19:28-44, and John 12:12-19).
Prophetic Scripture 2 ~ For the Lord himself
will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel,
and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise
first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up
together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we
will always be with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
Our Responsibility ~ When He is revealed, we shall
be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3 And everyone
who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure (1 john 3:2b-3).
