~ Unique ~

 

Scripture ~ Inasmuch as there is none like You, O Lord (You are great, and Your name is great in might), ⁷ Who would not fear You, O King of the nations? For this is Your rightful due.

 

For among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like You. (Jeremiah 10:6-7)

 

Comment ~ The word “holy” in referring to Christ is often not well understood. You may recall that throughout the Old Testament are many contrasts referring to the “holy” versus the “profane.”  Profane was the “common.” A good way of thinking of holy is uncommon, set apart, or “unique.”

 

In speaking of the Holiness of we are speaking of His uniqueness. God is unique in every way – holiness in essence refers to all of God – and how He is unique in every way.
