God Attribute, 203

~ God Speaks Softly, 2 ~

This Series ~ This series of posts looks at some of the many ways that God speaks.

Introductory Scriptures ~ “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear” {Luke 8:8).

Jesus Christ ~ And a cloud came and overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, ‘This is My beloved Son. Hear Him’!” (Mark 9:7). “This is My Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased. Listen to Him!” (Matthew 17:5 NIV).

Christians ~ “My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:27).

Scripture ~ “Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He’s the One who will keep you on track” (Proverbs 3:6 MSG).

“Love the Lord your God, listen to His voice, and hold fast to Him” (Deuteronomy 30:20 NIV).

“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it’” (Isaiah 30:21 NIV).

The best-known Scripture on the subject:

“The still small voice of the Spirit” (1 Kings 19:12 KJV).

“Then a very strong wind blew… But the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind, there was an earthquake. But the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake, there was a fire. But the Lord was not in the fire. After the fire, there was a quiet, gentle voice” (1 Kings 19:11–12, ICB).

“Then the LORD said, ‘Go out and stand on the mountain before the LORD. Behold, the LORD is about to pass by.” And a great and mighty wind tore into the mountains and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake there was a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a still, small voice. When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah’?” (1 Kings 19:11-13, BSB).

Comment ~ Have you heard God’s voice? If not, are you actively listening?

Jesus Was Rejected, 19

~ Jesus Was Disowned By His Own, 1 ~

This Series ~ Jesus Christ came to earth to save sinners. He lived a sinless life. He was a truly righteous man. But He was rejected by mankind. He died a cruel, painful death as a penalty for our sins. Those who now accept Him and trust Him for eternal salvation will live forever with Him without any more pains or sadness.

Scripture ~ “Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? 2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; and when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him.

3He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

4 “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

6 “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way;

and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth.

8 “He was taken from prison and from judgment, and who will declare His generation?

For He was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgressions of My people He was stricken” (Isaiah 53:1-8).

Key Factor ~ God not only makes promises to His people but He also keeps all of His promises.

Scripture ~ “The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore” (Psalm 121:7-8).

Benefits For God’s People, 52

~ God Will Pour Out His Spirit On All ~

Series Information ~ The Bible is full of promises to those who have trusted in God as their only true source of salvation.  Most of the 100+ posts in this series are exclusively for God’s family.  These postings are far from an exhaustive list!  It is important to realize you are not a member of God’s family unless you have made a specific intentional decision to trust Jesus Christ as your savior.  If you have not done that or are not sure if you have then I suggest you settle it today. Here is a good website which will help you: https://www.focusonthefamily.com/faith/what-must-i-do-to-be-saved/

Series Theme Scripture ~ For as many as are the promises of God, they all find their Yes [answer] in Him [Christ].  For this reason we also utter the Amen (so be it) to God through Him [in His Person and by His agency] to the glory of God” (2 Corinthians1:20 amp).

This Post Scripture ~ “And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. 29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days” (Joel 2:28-29).

Continual

~ Strive To Be Consistent in 2026 ~

As we enter another year my ambition is to be continually active in three important areas.

Continual Prayer ~ “We will give ourselves continually to prayer” (Acts 6:4a).  Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving” (Colossians 4:2).  “Then Jesus spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart” (Luke 18:1).

Continual Praise ~ “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.  My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear of it and be glad.  Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together” (Psalm 34:1-3).

Continual Service ~ “Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home.  And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days” (Daniel 6:10).  “So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions.  But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, ‘Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.’  Then a stone was brought and laid on the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the signets of his lords, that the purpose concerning Daniel might not be changed.  Now the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting; and no musicians were brought before him.  Also his sleep went from him.  Then the king arose very early in the morning and went in haste to the den of lions.  And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel.  The king spoke, saying to Daniel, ‘Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?’” (Daniel 6:16-20).

New Years Eve 2025

~ 3 Thoughts to Consider ~

First, since you are on planet earth you have spun in rotations 7,000,000 plus miles during this past year. Perhaps more astonishing is that you have travelled 568 million miles through space. What an amazing creation!

Second, “I wish, my brothers and sisters, that during this year you have lived nearer to Christ than you have ever done before.” —C.H. Spurgeon

Third, this coming New Year is like a blank book, it has 12 chapters and 365 pages, and you are the author. My wish for you is that this year you write the most beautiful story possible for yourself, for the others you come in contact with, and for eternity.

I wish you a very Happy New Year.
