Fear Not, 13

~ The Messiah’s Disciples Knew God’s Peace ~

God does not want His children living in fear.  “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue” (2 Peter 1:2-3).

Fear not,” or its equivalent, is recorded many times in Scripture—ALN will post one “fear not” each week during this calendar year.

This Week’s Verse  ~  Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written: Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your King is coming, sitting on a donkey's colt.’  His disciples did not understand these things at first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about Him and that they had done these things to Him” (John 12:14-16).

The Foundation Of Peace  ~  “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid” (Psalm 27:1).

The Solution If You Lack Peace  ~  Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble” (Psalm 119:165).  “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You” (Isaiah 26:3).  “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

Summary  ~  “No Christ = No Peace” versus “Know Christ = Know Peace”

Ministers Of …

~ Are You Fulfilling Your Triple Ministry? ~

Ministers of God  ~  In all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God” (2 Corinthians 6:4a).  Timothy, our brother and minister of God, and our fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ” (1 Thessalonians 3:2a)

Ministers of Christ  ~  “Are they Hebrews?  So am I.  Are they Israelites?  So am I.  Are they the seed of Abraham?  So am I.  Are they ministers of Christ? — I speak as a fool — I am more: in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often” (2 Corinthians 11:22-23).  “Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf” (Colossians 1:7).

Ministers of the Word  ~  “We will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word” (Acts 6:4).  I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:  Preach the word!  Be ready in season and out of season.  Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching” (2 Timothy 4:1-2).

Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.  And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand” (John 10:27-28).

The Christian’s Relationship  ~  My sheep…”

The Christian’s Privilege  ~  …hear My voice, and I know them…”

The Christian’s Walk  ~  …and they follow Me…”

The Christian’s Portion  ~  “…And I give them eternal life…”

The Christian’s Security  ~  “…and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.”
