~ How Are You Identified With Christ?
~
You Are Dead With Christ
~ “What
shall we say then? Shall we continue in
sin that grace may abound? Certainly
not! How
shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His
death?” (Romans 6:1-3). …
You Were Buried With Christ
~ … “Therefore
we were buried with Him through baptism
into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of
the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans
6:4). “In Him you were also circumcised with the
circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of
Christ, buried with Him in baptism” (Colossians
2:11-12a). …
You Were Made Alive With Christ
~ … “In
which you also were raised with Him
through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead” (Colossians
2:12b). “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the
Spirit” (1
Peter 3:18).
You Are Risen With Christ
~ “If
then you were raised with Christ,
seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand
of God. Set your mind on things above,
not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is
hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians
3:1-3). …
You Will Be Glorified With Christ
~ … “When
Christ who is our life appears, then you
also will appear with Him in glory” (Colossians
3:4). “Therefore, brethren, we are debtors — not to
the flesh, to live according to the flesh.
For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit
you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God,
these are sons of God. For you did not
receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of
adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.’
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of
God, and if children, then heirs — heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if
indeed we suffer with Him, that we may
also be glorified together” (Romans 8:12-17).
