Confess
the Lord ~ “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus
and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be
saved. For with the heart one believes
unto righteousness, and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10).
Know
the Lord ~ “For if that first
covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. Because finding fault with them, He says: ‘Behold,
the days are coming, says the Lord,
when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of
Judah — not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day
when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because
they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the Lord.
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after
those days, says the Lord: I will
put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their
God, and they shall be My people. None
of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, “Know the Lord,”
for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. For I will be merciful to their
unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more’” (Hebrews
8:7-12).
Follow
the Lord ~ “Nevertheless my
brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people melt, but I wholly followed the Lord my God” (Joshua 14:8). “Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone
desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will
lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains
the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his
soul?” (Matthew 16:24-26).
Serve
the Lord ~ “Serve the Lord with
gladness; come
before His presence with singing” (Psalm 100:2). “And when they had come to
him, he said to them: ‘You know, from the first day that I came to Asia, in
what manner I always lived among you, serving
the Lord with all humility, with many tears and trials which happened to me
by the plotting of the Jews; how I kept back nothing that was helpful, but
proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house, testifying
to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord
Jesus Christ’” (Acts 20:18-21). “Whatever you do, do
it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will
receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ” (Colossians
3:23-24).
Honor
the Lord ~ “Honor the Lord with
your possessions, and
with the firstfruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty,
and your vats will overflow with new wine” (Proverbs
3:9-10). “… these people draw near with their mouths
and honor
Me with their lips, but
have removed their hearts far from Me …” (Isaiah 29:13).
Magnify
the Lord ~ “Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt His name together” (Psalm 34:3).
With
the Lord ~ “We are always
confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the
Lord. For we walk by faith, not by
sight. We are confident, yes, well
pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord” (2
Corinthians 5:6-8).
