Question – Jesus, 120

 ~ Regarding Seeing, 1of2 ~

Introduction  ~  This series is about questions involving Jesus.  Some were asked by individuals involved with Jesus Christ while He walked on earth.  Others are questions that Jesus Christ asked others.  We will look at questions on over 130 topics (some may split into two or more posts).  Even so, it is far from an exhaustive list.

Scripture  ~  “And He said to him, ‘You have rightly judged.’  Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, ‘Do you see this woman?  I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head.  You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in.  You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil.  Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much.  But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.’  Then He said to her, ‘Your sins are forgiven’” (Luke 7:43-48).

Questions  ~  (1) If you do not believe the Word of God, would you like to have all of your sins forgiven?  (2) If you are in the family of God how would He rank your service for Him and His people?

God Is My… , 5

~ God Is My Counselor ~

Introduction  ~  Previously (July 16, 2017 – January 6, 2019) ALN posted a series of 82 posts of “Jesus is…,” and then we looked exclusively at who “God is…” from the Book of Psalms (February 9, 2020 – December 5, 2021).  We are now considering “God is…” statements from non-Psalms passages.

Passage  ~  “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder.  And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).

Myth, 124

~ You Need Lots of Time to Study the Bible ~

Myth  ~  It is true that our lives are busy and it often seems impossible to add more to our schedules.

Realities  ~  (1) We all have the same 24 hours each day which males it not a matter of time but rather an issue of priority.  (2) Even a small amount of time on a regular Bible provides significant gain in understanding Scripture.  (3) A small amount of time daily (even only 10-15 minutes) typically results in more gain than a large amount of time separated by big gaps before another large of amount of study.

Scripture  ~  “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.  More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.  Moreover by them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward” (Psalm 19:7-11).

“How can a young man cleanse his way?  By taking heed according to Your Word.  With my whole heart I have sought You; oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!  Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You” (Psalm 119:9-11).
