 ~ Our God Is an Awesome God ~

 

This Series  ~  This series of posts looks at some of the many attributes of God.  Generally, we move in alphabetical order.

 

Introduction  ~  The word awesome is used quite casually in modern day English vernacular.  So much so that it has lost its meaning to many.  But the word is awesome, in its true significance is a great description of the one true God. 

 

Scripture  ~  Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth!  Sing out the honor of His name; make His praise glorious.  Say to God, ‘How awesome are Your works!  Through the greatness of Your power

Your enemies shall submit themselves to You.  All the earth shall worship You and sing praises to You; they shall sing praises to Your name’” (Psalm 66:1-4).

 

Question  ~  Do you know the awesome One personally?

Why Trust God? 3

 ~ God Will Fight for You ~

 

“And Moses said to the people, ‘Do not be afraid.  Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today.  For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.  The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace” (Exodus 14:13-14).

 

“And he said, ‘Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat!  Thus says the Lord to you: “Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s”’” (2 Chronicles 20:15-16).

 

Closing Thought  ~  Can you not trust the details of your life to the Creator and Sustainer of all (including your life)?
