Myth, 130

~ Christians Can’t Muster Up The Needed Faith ~

Myth  ~  Some Christians just don’t have what it takes when it comes to faith.

Reality  ~  God will supply all you need.

“Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:12-13).

Scripture  ~  God has given to every man the measure of faith” (Romans 12:3).

“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17).

Quotes  ~  Here are two acronyms for faith:

Forsaking All I Trust Him

Forwarding All Issues To Heaven

Comment  ~  Be in the Word of God every day.  Otherwise you are like a person on a hunger strike while wondering why they are losing their strength!  If you do not have a regular spiritual intake from the Word of God guided by the Spirit of God you should not wonder at your lack of spiritual strength.

Is Christ God? 7of12

~ John Called Jesus Christ God! ~

Scripture  ~  “In the beginning was the Word [Jesus Christ], and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.  In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.  And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it” (John 1:1-5).

“And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life” (1 John 5:20).

Binary, 9

~ Binary Result: Loss or Gain ~

Series Comment  ~  When it comes to spiritual paths it is strictly a binary choice.

(1)   It is a choice between the True or False.  “Jesus said to him [Thomas], ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me’” (John 14:6).  [See Post #1 in this series.]

(2)   It is a choice between Do or Done.  Jesus said, “It [the work of salvation] is finished!” (John 19:30).  Your Doing can add nothing to what Christ has Done for you.  [See Post #2 in this series.]

(3)   It is your choice between Religion or Relationship.  Religions are geared toward self-effort whereas Christianity is an intimacy with the only One who can save.  Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).  [See Post #3 in this series.}

Scripture  ~  “Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.  For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.  For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?  Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul’” (Matthew 16:24-26).

Comment  ~  This passage is directly applicable to the question of accepting the salvation which is available through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  This passage of Scripture will continue in our next post in this series.
