Is Christ God? 9of12

 ~ Thomas Called Jesus Christ God! ~

Scripture  ~  “Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.  The other disciples therefore said to him, ‘We have seen the Lord.’  So he said to them, ‘Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.’  And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them.  Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, ‘Peace to you!’  Then He said to Thomas, ‘Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side.  Do not be unbelieving, but believing.’  And Thomas answered and said to Him, ‘My Lord and my God!’  Jesus said to him,  ‘Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed.  Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed’” (John 20:24-29).

Bible Answer, 93

 ~ Did You Get It Right? ~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ bible answer ~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
question:  What instance in Scripture records a group of young people mocking one of their elders?
answer:  The answer is found in 2 Kings 2:23.
“Then the men of the city said to Elisha, ‘Please notice, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the ground barren.’  And he said, ‘Bring me a new bowl, and put salt in it.’  So they brought it to him.  Then he went out to the source of the water, and cast in the salt there, and said, ‘Thus says the Lord: “I have healed this water; from it there shall be no more death or barrenness.”’  So the water remains healed to this day, according to the word of Elisha which he spoke.  Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up the road, some youths came from the city and mocked him, and said to him, ‘Go up, you baldhead!  Go up, you baldhead!’  So he turned around and looked at them, and pronounced a curse on them in the name of the Lord.  And two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths.  Then he went from there to Mount Carmel, and from there he returned to Samaria” (2 Kings 2:19-25).
God Attribute, 7
 ~ A God Who Blesses ~
This Series  ~  This series of posts looks at some of the many attributes of God.  Generally, we move in alphabetical order.
Introduction  ~  Throughout the Scriptures a principle is clear.  Obey God and receiving blessings or disobey God and receive your judgment.  Consider just one example:
“Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you today; and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way which I command you today, to go after other gods [anything that is more important to you than God] which you have not known” (Deuteronomy 11:26-28).
Scripture  ~  Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.  The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot” (Proverbs 10:6-7).
Comment  ~  An important concept is remember that blessings are not always physical, not always visible, and not always in the present.  There are many spiritual blessings both on earth and also in the future.
