~ Jesus Christ’s Current Work On Our
Behalf ~
He Saves Us
~ “For
when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the
ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous
man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to
die. But God demonstrates His own love
toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by
His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were
reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been
reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God
through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the
reconciliation” (Romans 5:6-11).
He Appears To Us
~
“Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are
copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now
to appear in the presence of God for us” (Hebrews 9:24).
He Intercedes For Us
~ “Who
shall bring a charge against God's elect?
It is God who justifies. Who is
he who condemns? It is Christ who died,
and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us” (Romans 8:33-34).
He Keeps Us
~ “Now
to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you
faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our
Savior, who alone is wise, be glory
and majesty, dominion and power, both
now and forever. Amen” (Jude 24-25).
He Cleanses Us
~ “Husbands,
love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
that He might sanctify and cleanse her
with the washing of water by the Word, that He might present her to Himself
a glorious church, not having spot or
wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish”
(Ephesians 5:25-27).
He Restores Us
~ “He restores my soul” (Psalm 23:3a).
He Leads Us
~ Jesus said,
“And when He brings out His own sheep, He goes before them; and the sheep follow Him, for they know His
voice” (John 10:4). “He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. … He leads me in the paths of righteousness
for His name’s sake” (Psalm 23:2-3).
the key question:
“Who do you say that I am?” (Matthew 16:15). This is the most important question you will
ever answer. If you do not answer it, or
answer it incorrectly, you have made the biggest mistake anyone can make!
