~ There Are Some Absolute Truths! ~
Poverty Of The Sinner
~ “They
[mankind] spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave” (Job 21:13). “For we
brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out” (1 Timothy 6:7).
Judgment Of The Sinner (and His believers) ~ “For if we sin
willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer
remains a sacrifice for sins, but a
certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will
devour the adversaries. Anyone who has
rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three
witnesses. Of how much worse punishment,
do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God
underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a
common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
For we know Him who said, ‘Vengeance
is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord. And again, ‘The Lord will judge His
people.’ It is a fearful thing to
fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews
10:26-31). “Therefore you are
inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another
you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things [see chapter
1]. But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against
those who practice such things” (Romans 2:1-2).
Death Of The Sinner
~ “For
as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as
have sinned in the law will be judged by the law (for not the hearers of the
law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified;
for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law,
these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, who show the work
of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and
between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them) in the day
when God will judge the secrets of men by
Jesus Christ, according to my gospel” (Romans
2:12-16).
“But these, like natural
brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do
not understand, and will utterly perish
in their own corruption, and will receive the wages of unrighteousness” (2
Peter 2:12-13a).
Gospel For The Sinner
~ “When
Jesus heard that, He said to them, ‘Those who are well have no need of a
physician, but those who are sick. But
go and learn what this means: “I desire mercy and not sacrifice.” For I
did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance’” (Matthew
9:12-13). “But I make known to you,
brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to
man. For I neither received it from man,
nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ”
(Galatians 1:11-12).
The next
certainty is certainly available but
acceptance is optional!
Salvation Of The Sinner
~ “Behold,
God is my salvation, I will trust and
not be afraid; ‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation’”
(Isaiah 12:2). “But what does it say? ‘The word is near you, in your mouth and in
your heart’ (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord
Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will
be saved. For with the heart one
believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation. For the Scripture says, ‘Whoever
believes on Him will not be put to shame.’
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord
over all is rich to all who call upon Him.
For ‘whoever calls on the name of
the Lord shall be saved’” (Romans
10:8-13).
