Fact Check, 18

~ Happiness Is Unachievable ~

Introduction  ~  Satan is the “Father of lies” (John 8:44).  From the beginning—in the Garden of Eden—Satan has tried to get humans to doubt, question, and deny the truth of God’s Word.  In essence Satan whispered in Eve’s ear, “Did God really say that?” (Genesis 3:1).  This is a serious matter because God will not always strive with an individual.  “Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever” (Romans 1:24-25).

Satan Says  ~  You will never be fulfilled and happy!

God’s Answer  ~  The Psalmist wrote, “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11).

Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10b).  Jesus also said, “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full” (John 15:11).

The Beloved Apostle wrote, These things we write to you that your joy may be full” (1 John 1:4).

The Prophet Isaiah wrote, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You” (Isaiah 26:3).

Comment  ~  In reality there is a real difference between the world’s happiness which is dependent upon circumstances and the true joy of knowing God which remains in spite of circumstances.
