Myth, 35

~ Christians Have No Problems ~

False Teachers  ~  There are many evangelists and false teachers in our day proclaiming what has been termed the “health and wealth gospel.”  This is contrary to the Word of God. 

Scripture  ~  The Christian will have the same kind of problems as the non-believer: 

Jesus Christ said, “Your Father in heaven makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust” (Matthew 5:45b).

In fact, the Bible declares that the Christian who is living according to God’s direction will often have extra, additional problems.  Jesus Christ said, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace.  In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).  And again, He said,

“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.  If you were of the world, the world would love its own.  Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.  Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’  If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you.  If they kept My word, they will keep yours also” (John 15:18-20).
