Myth, 134

~ Christians Should Fear Satan ~

Myth  ~  The myth is that in the present age Satan is as powerful as God.  Unfortunately, even some Christians have fallen for this lie.

Reality  ~  According to Scripture this concept is not at all accurate.

“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’  Amen” (Matthew 28:18-20).

Scripture  ~  “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He [The Spirit of God] who is in you is greater than he [Satan] who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).

Quotes  ~  “Satan controls and paralyzes his prisoners through fear.  Jesus calms and propels His people through faith.”

“Satan’s target is your mind and his weapons are lies.  So fill your mind with the Word of God.”

Comment  ~  If I am a Christian I never need to fear Satan.  God is sovereign – in total control of all that happens – including with regards to the actions, powers, and limits of Satan.

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1).
