~ In Jesus We Have Forgiveness, 9 ~
Introduction ~ In
this series we look at a few of the verses which state what we have when we are
“in Christ.” Consider our series theme
verse:
“God,
who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even
when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by
grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together
in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He
might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ
Jesus. For by grace you have been
saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of
works, lest anyone should boast. For we
are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God
prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:4-10).
Scripture
~ “If So I said, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ and He
said, ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.
But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this
purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have
seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you. I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as
well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order
to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that
they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are
sanctified by faith in Me’” (Acts 26:15-18).
Comment
~ I like to consider one-word
descriptions of the Bible. There are
many but my favorite is “forgiveness.”
