~ Walk Properly ~
Series
Introduction ~ The New Testament has much to say about how a
believer should live their life.
Christians should never have to guess about the life that pleases
God. In this series we look at a variety
of passages that speak about the Christian walk on earth.
Scripture ~ “And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to
awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first
believed. The night is far spent, the
day is at hand. Therefore let us cast
off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day,
not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and
envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ,
and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts” (Romans 13:11-14).
“But we urge you, brethren, that you increase more and more; that
you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work
with your own hands, as we commanded you, that you may walk properly
toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing” (1 Thessalonians
4:10b-12).
Quote ~ “To walk with someone means you are aware of their
presence. And this is true with
God. If you’re to walk with Him, you
must be continually aware of His presence.” —Kay Smith {Pleasing God)
