~ Walk Worthy ~
Series
Introduction ~ The New Testament has much to say about how a
believer should live their life.
Christians should never have to guess about the life that pleases
God. In this series we look at a variety
of passages that speak about the Christian walk on earth.
Scripture ~ “For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not
cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of
His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy
of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and
increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to
His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified
us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of
darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we
have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians
1:9-14).
“I, therefore, the prisoner
of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you
were called, 2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing
with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the
bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:1-4).
“You are witnesses, and God also, how devoutly and justly and
blamelessly we behaved ourselves among you who believe; as you know how we
exhorted, and comforted, and charged every one of you, as a father does his own
children, that you would walk worthy of God who calls you into His own
kingdom and glory” (1 Thessalonians 2:10-12).
Quote ~ “To walk with someone means you are aware of their
presence. And this is true with
God. If you’re to walk with Him, you
must be continually aware of His presence.” —Kay Smith {Pleasing God)
