~ God Helps ~
This
Series ~ This
series of posts looks at some of the many attributes of God. Generally, we move in alphabetical order.
Scripture ~ “Let
your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have.
For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So we may
boldly say: ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to
me’?” (Hebrews 13:5-6).
Jesus
said, “I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that
He may abide with you forever — the Spirit of truth, whom the world
cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him,
for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans;
I will come to you” (John 14:16-18).
Jesus
continued, “The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My
name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things
that I said to you” (John 14:26).
“The
Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray
for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with
groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what
the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints
according to the will of God” (Romans 8:26-27).
