Myth, 131

 ~ Christians Don’t Have Enough Resources ~

Myth  ~  Christians are often expected to do more than they are capable of including not having enough resources.

Reality  ~  What God calls you to do He will provide all you need.  There is absolutely no valid reason to use resources as an excuse for obedient action.

Scripture  ~  My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19)

Quotes  ~  “The problem for most Christians is not knowledge but obedience.”  ~ John MacArthur

“Only he who believes is obedient and only he who obeys believes.”   ~ Dietrich Bonhoffer

Question  ~  Are you obedient?

Is Christ God? 8of12

 ~ The Healed Blind Man Called Jesus Christ God! ~

Scripture  ~  “The man answered and said to them, ‘Why, this is a marvelous thing, that you do not know where He is from; yet He has opened my eyes!  Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.  Since the world began it has been unheard of that anyone opened the eyes of one who was born blind.  If this Man were not from God, He could do nothing.’  They answered and said to him, ‘You were completely born in sins, and are you teaching us?’  And they cast him out.  Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, ‘Do you believe in the Son of God?  He answered and said, ‘Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?’  And Jesus said to him, ‘You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you.’  Then he said, ‘Lord, I believe!’  And he worshiped Him” (John 9:30-38).

Binary, 10

 ~ Binary Result: Loss or Gain, 2 ~

Series Comment  ~  When it comes to spiritual paths it is strictly a binary choice.

(1)   It is a choice between the True or False.  “Jesus said to him [Thomas], ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me’” (John 14:6).  [See Post #1 in this series.]

(2)   It is a choice between Do or Done.  Jesus said, “It [the work of salvation] is finished!” (John 19:30).  Your Doing can add nothing to what Christ has Done for you.  [See Post #2 in this series.]

(3)   It is your choice between Religion or Relationship.  Religions are geared toward self-effort whereas Christianity is an intimacy with the only One who can save.  Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).  [See Post #3 in this series.}

Scripture  ~  … “The Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works’” (Matthew 16:24-27).

Comment  ~    This passage is the continuation of our last post in this series.  It is directed at believers and whether they have accepted initial salvation of forgiven sins and the removal of the penalty of their sins, or they have worked out their salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12-13) in the process of sanctification reducing the power of sin in their lives.
