~ Do Your Truly Love Your God? ~
The Key Passage ~ “Jesus said to him,
‘“You shall love the Lord your God [1] with all your
heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: “You shall love your neighbor [2] as yourself [3].” On these two commandments hang all the Law
and the Prophets’” (Matthew 22:37-40). Why not take a few moments to reflect on
these three accountabilities.
God ~ Do
you truly Love God as demonstrated by your life? How does your personal time in the Scriptures
compare to the time you spend watching TV or being entertained? On days with extra full schedules do you make
extra time for the needed extra prayer? When
you find yourself with an unanticipated open spot in your schedule what are the
first things that come to mind to fill the void?
Other People ~ Do
you truly love your fellow human beings as demonstrated by your daily
actions? All of them? All ethnic groups? All social classes? All education levels? All character types? How about those who “rub you wrong”—do you
truly love them as well? Christ died for
them—do you see them through His eyes?
Your Self ~ Do
you truly love yourself as demonstrated by your actions? How about how you treat your body
physically? What and how much you
eat? What and how much you drink? How much and how often you get meaningful
exercise? Are intentional regarding what
you allow in your eyesight, thought-life, and emotional life?
Additional
Thoughts ~ 1) Owe
no one anything but Christ’s love shining through you! 2) If you were on trial for being a Christian
would there be enough evidence to convict you?
