~ Your Most Critical Binary Choice in
Life ~
The spiritual
world is a world of binary choices.
Two Entrances (narrow
or wide) ~ Jesus said, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is
the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who
go in by it…” (Matthew 7:13).
Two Roads (difficult
or easy) ~ Jesus continued, “…Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life,
and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:14).
Two Destinies (life
or destruction) ~ “Because narrow
is the gate and difficult is the way
which leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:14).
Two Groups (many
and few) ~ “Because narrow is the gate and difficult is
the way which leads to life, and there
are few who find it” (Matthew 7:14).
Two Results (gain
or loss) ~ “Then Jesus said to
His disciples, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and
take up his cross, and follow Me. For
whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for
My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains
the whole world, and loses his own soul?
Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man will come in the glory of
His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his
works’” (Matthew 16:24-27).
Additional Reality
~ Jesus also said, “Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever
loses his life will preserve it. I tell you, in that night there will be
two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left. Two women will be grinding together: the one
will be taken and the other left. Two
men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left” (Luke
17:33-36).
Summary
~ Like in any other binary
situations there are only two possibilities.
There is no middle ground, no alternate path, no third choice, and no
intermediate destiny. It is an either or
situation.
