~ Jesus Christ Knows Each Us Intimately and Completely ~
General Comment
~ When Jesus saw there was always an appropriate reaction and in each case
we can learn from the event.
Today’s Scripture
~ “And
Nathanael said to him, ‘Can anything good come out of Nazareth?’ Philip said to him, ‘Come and see.’ Jesus
saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him, ‘Behold, an Israelite
indeed, in whom is no deceit!’ Nathanael
said to Him, ‘How do You know me?’ Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Before
Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.’ Nathanael answered and said to Him, ‘Rabbi,
You are the Son of God! You are the King
of Israel!’ Jesus answered and said to
him, ‘Because I said to you, “I saw you under the fig tree,” do you
believe? You will see greater things
than these.’ And He said to him, ‘Most
assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you
shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the
Son of Man’” (John 1:46-51).
Application ~ Jesus Christ knows you intimately and in exquisite detail
as your Creator. “In the beginning was
the Word [Jesus Christ], and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All
things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light
of men. And the light shines in the
darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it”
(John 1:1-5).
Jesus Christ
also knows those who have placed in their trust in Him as family members
adopted into the family of God. “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth
His Son [Jesus Christ], born of a woman, born
under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons” (Galatians
4:4-5). “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly
places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the
world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having
predestined us to adoption as sons by
Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the
praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved”
(Ephesians 1:3-6).
