~ 7 Requirements for Ultimate Peace in
A Tumultuous World ~
Peace with God (by
faith) ~ “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).
This is the
absolute baseline for peace. If you lack
peace the first thing to ask yourself is have you accepted the gift of
salvation which is only available through the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the
Cross of Calvary. If you pass this
foundational test and still lack peace then check yourself against each of the
following items.
Peace Multiplied (through
knowledge) ~ “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge
of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all
things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who
called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great
and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine
nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” (2
Peter 1:2-4).
Peace of God (by
prayerfulness) ~ “Be anxious for
nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let
your requests be made known to God; and the
peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and
minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).
Peace Ruling (in
submission) ~ “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts,
to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in
all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and
spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in
the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him” (Colossians
3:15-17).
God of Peace (by
obedience) ~ “Finally, brethren,
whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just,
whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of
good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy —
meditate on these things. The things
which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you” (Philippians
4:8-9).
Great Peace (by
loving the Word of God) ~ “Great peace have those who love Your law,
and nothing causes them to stumble” (Psalm 119:165).
Perfect Peace (through
testing) ~ “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is
stayed on You, because he trusts in You” (Isaiah 26:3).
Concluding Thought
~ “‘For
there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the
Lord. And this will be the sign to you:
You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.’ And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly
host praising God and saying: ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!’” (Luke
2:11-14). Jesus said, “These things I have spoken to
you while being present with you. But
the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will
teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to
you. Peace
I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give
to you. Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid” (John 14:25-27).
