~ 7 Joyful Parties Resulting From A
Saved Sinner ~
The Father
~ “The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty
One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with
His love, He will rejoice over you with singing” (Zephaniah
3:17).
The Son of God
~ Jesus Christ in giving the
parable of the lost sheep said, “And when he [the
shepherd] comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to
them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more
joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons
who need no repentance” (Luke 15:6-7).
The Holy Spirit ~ “You
did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the
Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.’ The Spirit Himself bears witness with our
spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs — heirs of God
and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be
glorified together” (Romans 8:15-17). “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control” (Galatians
5:22-23a).
Notice
that all three members of the God-head are joyful over a sinner being born
again!
The Angels
~ Jesus Christ said, “I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in
heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need
no repentance” (Luke 15:7). Jesus also said,
“Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over
one sinner who repents” (Luke 15:10).
The Church
~ “So,
being sent on their way by the church, they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria,
describing the conversion of the Gentiles; and they caused great joy to all the
brethren” (Acts 15:3).
The Individual Who Repents
~ In giving the parable of the
prodigal son Jesus said, “‘bring the fatted calf here
and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; for this my son was dead and is alive
again; he was lost and is found.’ And
they began to be merry” (Luke 15:23-24).
Loved Ones
~ “And
immediately he and all his family were baptized. Now when he had brought them into his house,
he set food before them; and he rejoiced, having believed in God with all his
household” (Acts 16:33-34).
