~ Take Time To Thank a Veteran Today ~
Passage ~ Jesus said, “These things I have spoken to
you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another
as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to
lay down one’s life for his friends.
You are My friends if you do whatever I command you” (John 15:11-14).
Comment
~ Give thanks all people everywhere
for the greatest sacrifice ever: Jesus
Christ, the very Son of God, died for our sins.
Those who know Him as Lord and Savior are always thankful.
On this
Memorial Day in the United States we also thank all military men and women who
have served in our armed forces—many never returning from battle. They paid the ultimate price by dying for our
nation’s freedom. The following poem is
from an unknown source.
It
is the VETERAN, not the preacher,
who
has given us freedom of religion.
It
is the VETERAN, not the reporter,
who
has given us freedom of the press.
It
is the VETERAN, not the poet,
who
has given us freedom of speech.
It
is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer,
who
has given us freedom to assemble.
It
is the VETERAN, not the lawyer,
who
has given us the right to a fair trial.
It
is the VETERAN, not the politician,
who
has given us the right to vote.
It is the VETERAN, not the protester,
who
stands and salutes the Flag.
It is the VETERAN who serves under the Flag,
who
allows your freedom to continue.
A personal “THANK YOU” to all who have served and to
their families. May God’s richest
blessings be a significant part of your lives.
