3 Aspects of Salvation ~
Salvation is not a Reward
for the Righteous.
It is an available Gift
for those who understand their Guilt!
Salvation
Worked Out By Jehovah (God
is the Initiator) ~ “And Moses said
to the people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the
Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you
shall see again no more forever.’ … Then Moses stretched out his hand over the
sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go
back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land,
and the waters were divided” (Exodus 14:13, 21). “Though Jesus was the Son of God, yet He
learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the
author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him” (Hebrews 5:8-9).
Salvation
Appropriated By Faith (individuals
may respond) ~ “So the
children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and
the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. … But
the children of Israel had walked on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the
waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left” (Exodus 14:22,
29). “O Lord, I will praise You; though
You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, and You comfort me. Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and
not be afraid; ‘for Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become
my salvation’” (Isaiah 12:1-2).
Salvation
Results In Praise (benefits
are huge) ~ “Then Moses
and the children of Israel sang this song to the Lord, and spoke, saying: ‘I
will sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously!” (Exodus 15:1). “Thus Israel saw the great work which the
Lord had done in Egypt; so the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord
and His servant Moses” (Exodus 14:31). “He
has put a new song in my mouth—Praise to our God; many will see it and fear,
and will trust in the Lord” (Psalm 40:3).
Closing Thought ~ “Be
anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with
thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard
your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7). “You
will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he
trusts in You” (Isaiah 26:3).
