God Will Solve Your Problems ~
Mixed Truth
~ In this life on earth this is a
myth. Ultimately, the Christian will be
rid of all problems when they live eternally with their Savior in heaven. “Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for
the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New
Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for
her husband. And I heard a loud voice
from heaven saying, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will
dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their
God. And God will wipe away every tear
from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There
shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away’” (Revelation
21:1-4).
Reality #1
~ We now live in a fallen
world. That is true for both the
Christian and the pre-Christian. Jesus
put it this way, “You may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His
sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the
unjust” (Matthew 5:45).
Reality #2
~ Some problems we experience are
the result of our poor choices or actions.
There are consequences (good and bad) for the decisions we make. “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever
a man sows, that he will also reap. For
he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to
the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life” (Galatians 6:7-8). “But this I say: He who sows sparingly
will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap
bountifully” (2 Corinthians 9:6).
Reality #3
~ Because you are following Christ
you can expect problems. “But you have
carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering,
love, perseverance, persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch,
at Iconium, at Lystra — what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yes, and all who desire to live godly in
Christ Jesus will suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:10-12). “Beloved, do not think it strange
concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing
happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's
sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with
exceeding joy. If you are reproached for
the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests
upon you. On their part He is
blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified” (1 Peter 4:12-14).
