~ The Gift of Spiritual Understanding ~
God’s
Gifts Series
~ God has given mankind many gifts. In this series we will look at just a few of
them. There are so many aspects of God’s
gifts which we regularly receive and give little or no thought to—such as the
air we breathe and the light which enables us to see (and the capability to do both).
Scripture ~ “And we know
that the Son of God has come and has
given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in
Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life”
(1 John 5:20).
“For
it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in
our hearts to give the light of the
knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians
4:6).
“But
solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised
to discern both good and evil” (Hebrews 5:14).
Closing
Comment ~ “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:15). In one sense God’s “gift” is singular but His
gifts are many with many facets (read 9:8-15).
