~ The Basics of God In
You ~
What is the
result or evidence of God dwelling in you, and you dwelling in God? The Greek word meno is translated in the New Testament into eight different words,
viz: abide, continue, remain, tarry, be present, endure, stand, and dwell. Here, and in the following posts in this
series, are a few of the results or evidence:
Feeding Upon Christ
~ “Then
Jesus said to them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of
the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has
eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood
abides in Me, and I in him. As the
living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me
will live because of Me. This is the
bread which came down from heaven — not as your fathers ate the manna, and are
dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.’ These things He said in the synagogue as He
taught in Capernaum” (John 6:53-59).
Confessing Jesus As The Son of God
~ “Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of
God, God abides in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that
God has for us. God is love, and he who
abides in love abides in God, and God in him” (1 John 4:15-16).
Christ Dwelling In Your Heart By
Faith ~ “For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that
He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened
with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being
rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what
is the width and length and depth and height — to know the
love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the
fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:14-19).
Dwelling In Love
~ “Whoever
confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that
God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him”
(1 John 4:15-16).
Keeping His Commandments
~ “Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him,
and He in him. And by this we know that
He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us” (1 John 3:24).
