~ The Christian and Faith ~
Looking to Christ
~ It is by faith that we receive salvation. “Look to Me, and be saved, all you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there
is no other” (Isaiah 45:22). “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of
yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Justified by Faith
~ Justification by faith is the
Christian’s place. “Therefore, having
been justified by faith, we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into
this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God” (Romans 5:1-2).
Walking by Faith
~ Walking by faith allows
Christian progress. “For we walk by
faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7).
Standing by Faith
~ Standing by faith gives the
Christian stability. “Not that we have
dominion over your faith, but are fellow workers for your joy; for by faith you
stand” (2 Corinthians 1:24).
Living by Faith
~ Living by faith gives the Christian sustenance.
“I have been crucified with Christ; it
is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live
in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself
for me. I do not set aside the grace of
God” (Galatians 2:20-21a).
Leaning on Christ
~ Our faith allows us to have fellowship with God. “Now there was
leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved” (John 13:23).
Living unto Christ ~ The faith of the Christian is what enables
him to live for Christ. “He died for all,
that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died
for them and rose again” (2 Corinthians 5:15).
