~ Essentials of Prayer ~
“Teach
us what we should say to Him” (Job 37:19a). In
this five part series we will look at Techniques of prayer, Types of prayer,
Essentials of prayer, Effective prayer, and Topics of prayer.
The People of Prayer (Who—“My people”) ~ “If My people who are called by My name will
humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2
Chronicles 7:14).
The Subjects for Prayer (What—“everything”) ~ “Be anxious for
nothing, but in everything by prayer and
supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God” (Philippians
4:6).
The Time of Prayer (When—“always”) ~ “Then He spoke a
parable to them, that men always
ought to pray and not lose heart” (Luke 18:1). “Peter was
therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church” (Acts 12:5).
The Place of Prayer (Where—“everywhere”) ~ “I desire
therefore that the men pray everywhere,
lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting” (1 Timothy 2:8).
The Conditions of Prayer (How—“in My name”) ~ “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it” (John
14:14).
The Answers to Prayer (Results—“all things”) ~ “And whatever things you ask in prayer,
believing, you will receive” (Matthew 21:22). “And we know that all
things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the
called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).
