7 Aspects Of Prayer

~ Reasons To Pray and Results From Prayer ~

Jesus Prayed  ~  “Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He [Jesus Christ] went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed” (Mark 1:35).

Jesus Commanded Us To Pray  ~  Then He [Jesus Christ] spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart” (Luke 18:1).

Jesus Taught Us How To Pray  ~  So He [Jesus Christ] said to them, ‘When you pray, say:  Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.  Your kingdom come.  Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us day by day our daily bread.  And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one’” (Luke 11:2-4).

Those are three great reasons for praying which we learn directly from Jesus Christ our Savior.  There are also four great results of our prayers.

Giving Glory To God  ~  Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness” (Psalm 29:2).

Getting Direction From God  ~  Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths.  Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day” (Psalm 25:4-5).

Gaining Favor From God  ~  Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.  Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart [put the right desires in your heart].  Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass” (Psalm 37:3-5).

Growing More Like God  ~  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time” (1 Peter 1:3-5).

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18).
