~ 4 Aspects of Christ’s Work On Our
Behalf ~
He Found Us (conversion–Christ
the Savior) ~ “He found him in a desert land and in the
wasteland, a howling wilderness; He encircled him, He instructed him, He kept
him as the apple of His eye. As an eagle
stirs up its nest, hovers over its young,
spreading out its wings, taking them up, carrying them on its wings, so the Lord alone led him, and there was no
foreign god with him” (Deuteronomy 32:10-12).
Jesus said, “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them,
does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when
he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his
friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice
with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more
joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons
who need no repentance” (Luke 15:4-7).
He Leads Us (obedience–Christ
the Shepherd) ~ “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths
of righteousness for His name's sake” (Psalm
23:1-3).
Jesus said, “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I
say?” (Luke 6:46).
He Instructs Us (discipleship–Christ
the Teacher) ~ “He found him in a
desert land and in the wasteland, a howling wilderness; He encircled him, He instructed him, He kept him as the
apple of His eye. As an eagle stirs up
its nest, hovers over its young, spreading out
its wings, taking them up, carrying them on its wings, so the Lord alone led him, and there was no
foreign god with him” (Deuteronomy 32:10-12).
“Then
Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, ‘If you abide in My word, you are My
disciples indeed. And you shall know the
truth, and the truth shall make you free’” (John
8:31-32).
He Keeps Us (preservation–Christ
the Preserver) ~ “I have called upon
You, for You will hear me, O God; incline Your ear to me, and hear my
speech. Show Your marvelous lovingkindness
by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You from those who rise
up against them. Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me under the shadow of Your
wings, from the wicked who oppress me, from my deadly enemies who surround me”
(Psalm 17:6-9).
“He
found him in a desert land and in the wasteland, a howling wilderness; He
encircled him, He instructed him, He kept
him as the apple of His eye. As an
eagle stirs up its nest, hovers over its young, spreading out its wings, taking them
up, carrying them on its wings, so the Lord
alone led him, and there was no foreign god with him” (Deuteronomy
32:10-12).
the key question:
“Who do you say that I am?” (Matthew 16:15). This is the most important question you will
ever answer. If you do not answer it you have made the biggest mistake anyone
can make!
