~ 6 Aspects of Abiding in God ~
Live in the Spirit (Christian
life) ~ “No one has seen
God at any time. If we love one another,
God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in Him, and He
in us, because He has given us of His
Spirit” (1 John 4:12-13). “…live in the Spirit…” (Galatians 5:25-26).
Walk in the Spirit (Christian
walk) ~ “If we live in the
Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one
another, envying one another” (Galatians 5:25-26).
Pray in the Spirit (Christian
devotion) ~ “Praying always
with all prayer and supplication in the
Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication
for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:18).
Worship in the Spirit (Christian
priesthood) ~ “For we are the
circumcision, who worship God in the
Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh” (Philippians
3:3).
Love in the Spirit (Christian
brotherhood) ~ “You also learned
from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on
your behalf, who also declared to us your love
in the Spirit” (Colossians 1:7-8).
Fruit of the Spirit (Christian
transformation) ~ “For you were once
darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.
Walk as children of light (for the
fruit of the Spirit is in all
goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the
Lord” (Ephesians 5:8-10). “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,
self-control. Against such there is no
law” (Galatians 5:22-23).
