~ Three Teaching Basics ~
You
Are a Teacher by Appointment
~
“We are ambassadors
for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on
Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2
Corinthians 5:20-21). All Christians
should take their role of being Christ’s ambassadors seriously and proclaim Him
and teaching about Him.
You
Are a Teacher by Grace ~ “God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with
which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together
with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in
Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in
Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:4-7). A Christian should teach (formally or
informally) because of the new nature and spiritual gifts (literally grace
gifts) he or she have been given.
You
Are a Teacher by Nature ~ “Therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints
and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the
apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in
whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the
Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in
the Spirit” (Ephesians 2:19-22). Christians should teach in response the great
grace they have been given.
