~ Four Teaching Requirements ~
Your Work ~ “I charge you therefore before God and the
Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach
the word! Be ready in season and out of
season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with
all longsuffering and teaching” (2 Timothy 4:1-2).
Your Responsibility ~ “For we are to God the fragrance of Christ
among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. To the one we are the aroma of death leading
to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, as so many, peddling the Word of God; but as of
sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ” (2
Corinthians 2:15-17).
Your
Goal ~ “And He Himself gave some to be apostles,
some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers [all of whom
teach], for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the
edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and
of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the
stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed
to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of
men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth
in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—from whom
the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies,
according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes
growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love” (Ephesians
4:11-16). “Him we preach, warning every man and
teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in
Christ Jesus” (Colossians 1:28).
Your
Trust ~ “And we have such trust through Christ toward
God. Not that we are sufficient of
ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is
from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of
the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life”
(2 Corinthians 3:4-6).
“For
to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because
we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those
who believe. These things command and
teach” (1 Timothy 4:10-11).
