~ Are You Focused On The Right Things?
~
Salvation
~ “So they again called the man who
was blind, and said to him, ‘Give God the glory! We know that this Man is a sinner.’ He answered and said, ‘Whether He is a sinner
or not I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was
blind, now I see’” (John 9:24-25).
Worship
~ “And Jesus answered and said to
her, ‘Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one
thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be
taken away from her’” (Luke 10:41-42).
God’s Program
~ “But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with
the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise,
as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any
should perish but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:8-9).
Other’s Needs
~ “And he answered and said to
Him, ‘Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth.’ Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and
said to him, ‘One thing you lack: go
your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have
treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.’ But he was sad at this word, and went away
sorrowful, for he had great possessions” (Mark 10:20-22).
God’s Past Faithfulness
~ “Behold, this day I am going
the way of all the earth. And you know
in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God
spoke concerning you. All have come
to pass for you; not one word of them has failed” (Joshua 23:14).
The Goal
~ “Not that I have already
attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that
for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have
apprehended; but one thing I do,
forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things
which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of
God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:12-14).
The End Result
~ “One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: that I may
dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of
the Lord, and to inquire in His temple. For
in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of
His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock” (Psalm
27:4-5).
