~ God Answers the Sincere
Cries of His People ~
The Biblical
account of the life of Gideon provides for one of the most interesting
character studies in all of Scripture.
In this series we will discover practical lessons for living the
Christian life today.
Scripture ~ “And it came to
pass, when the children of Israel cried out to the Lord because of the Midianites, that the Lord sent a prophet to the children of
Israel, who said to them, ‘Thus says the Lord
God of Israel: “I brought you up from Egypt and brought you out of the
house of bondage; and I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians and out
of the hand of all who oppressed you, and drove them out before you and gave
you their land. Also I said to you, ‘I
am the Lord your God; do not fear
the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell.’ But you have not obeyed My voice”’” (Judges
6:7-10).
Learn From Gideon
~ God is a good God!
- God always has His children’s best interest in mind. “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly” (Psalm 84:11)…
- The only path to lasting happiness on earth is trust in God. “…O Lord of hosts, happy is the man who trusts in You!” (Psalm 84:12).
concluding comment ~ We
learn about Gideon primarily from Judges 6-8, but also Isaiah 9:1-7, and
Hebrews 11:1-3, 32-34.
