~ Joy in Every Sinner’s Conversion ~
God has supreme joy each time a sinner
conversion kneels at the Cross for salvation ~
Jesus
said, “I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one
sinner who repents” (Luke 15:10).
Salvation At Its Beginning (past—have
been saved—“born again”) ~ “Therefore those
who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to
them. And the multitudes with one accord
heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he
did. For
unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed;
and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. And there was great joy in that city” (Acts
8:4-8). “And he answered and said, ‘I believe that
Jesus Christ is the Son of God.’ So he commanded the chariot to stand
still. And both Philip and the eunuch
went down into the water, and he baptized him.
Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught
Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way
rejoicing” (Acts 8:38-39). “Now when he had brought them into his house, he set
food before them; and he rejoiced, having believed in God with all his
household” (Acts 16:34).
Salvation Throughout Its Course (present—am
being saved—sanctification progress)
~ “In
this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have
been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much
more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be
found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom
having not seen you love. Though now you do
not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of
glory” (1 Peter 1:6-9a). “That which we have
seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us;
and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write
to you that your joy may be full” (1 John 1:3-4).
Salvation At Its Close (future—will
be saved—glorification) ~ “But none of these
things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I
received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God” (Acts
20:24). “I have fought the good fight, I have
finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the
Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but
also to all who have loved His appearing” (2 Timothy 4:7-8).
