~ Jesus Christ Is Our Apostle ~
Passage
~ “Holy brethren, partakers of
the heavenly calling, consider the
Apostle and High Priest of our
confession, Christ Jesus, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as
Moses also was faithful in all His house.
For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch
as He who built the house has more honor than the house. For every house is built by someone, but He
who built all things is God. And Moses
indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those
things which would be spoken afterward, but Christ as a Son over His own house,
whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope
firm to the end” (Hebrews 3:1-6).
Significance
~ An apostle is a messenger sent
by another for a specific purpose. Jesus
Christ was sent by God the Father Apostle for the specific purpose of providing
a way of salvation for fallen mankind.
Comment ~ “So Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you’” (John 20:21). We are instructed to be His witnesses regarding the salvation which He has provided.
the key question:
“Who do you say that I am?”
(Matthew 16:15). This is the most
important question you will ever answer. If you do not answer it, or answer it
incorrectly, you have made the biggest mistake anyone can make!
