Salvation, 18

~ Bad News…  Good News! ~

Salvation is not a Reward for the Righteous.
It is an available Gift for those who understand their Guilt!

Bad News:  You Have Sinned  ~  All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way” (Isaiah 53:6a).

Good News:  God Loves You  ~  “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).  “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Good News:  You May Be Saved  ~  “This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.  However, for this reason I obtained mercy” (1 Timothy 1:15-16a).  Even the “Chief of Sinners” was saved!

Good News:  You Can Settle It Forever Right Now  ~  “For He says: ‘In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you.’  Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).

Good News:  Believe And Live Forever  ~  He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him” (John 3:36).

Bad News:  Reject And Perish  ~  “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him” (John 3:36).  “I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3).

Logical Conclusion  ~  “Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.  For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?” (Hebrews 2:1-4).
