3 Great Realities ~
Salvation is not a Reward
for the Righteous.
It is an available Gift
for those who understand their Guilt!
Sin
Has Ruined All
~ “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). “All we
like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way” (Isaiah
53:6a).
A righteous God does not even see the “good” done by
sinners. He is emphatic in His three
time statement:
“The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable
works, there is none that doeth good. The Lord
looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that
did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one” (Psalm
14:1-3).
“The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable
iniquity: there is none that doeth good. God looked down from heaven upon the children
of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. Every
one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that
doeth good, no, not one” (Psalm 53:1-3).
“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: there is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
They are all gone out of the way,
they are together become unprofitable;
there is none that doeth good, no, not one” (Romans 3:10-12).
Christ
Has Ransomed All
~ “For there is one God and one
Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ
Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, for
which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am speaking the truth in
Christ and not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth” (1 Timothy
2:5-7).
The death of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary conditionally paid for all the sins of
all mankind. The free gift of salvation
offered to all sinners must be individually
accepted by each sinner—otherwise it is an unopened and ineffective gift.
Faith
Saves All ~ “For David, after he had served his own
generation by the will of God, fell asleep, was buried with his fathers, and
saw corruption; but He [Jesus Christ] whom
God raised up saw no corruption. Therefore
let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the
forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from
all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses” (Acts
13:36-40).
As stated previously:
The death of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary conditionally paid for all the sins of all mankind. The free gift of salvation offered to all
sinners must be individually accepted
by each sinner (“everyone who believes”
in this passage)—otherwise it is an unopened and ineffective gift.
