Salvation, 23

~ God’s Saving Process ~

Salvation is not a Reward for the Righteous.
It is an available Gift for those who understand their Guilt!

By God (the source)  ~  “According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust” (1 Timothy 1:11).

Through Grace (the spring)  ~  “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.  For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.  For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:4-10).

In Christ (the cause)  ~  Jesus said, “I am the door.  If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture” (John 10:9).  “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).

By Faith (the means)  ~  “Then Jesus said to the woman, ‘Your faith has saved you.  Go in peace’” (Luke 7:50).

By Christ’s Resurrection (the security)  ~  “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.  But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.  For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead.  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.  But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ's at His coming” (1 Corinthians 15:19-24).

In Hope (the consummation)  ~  “For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?  But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance” (Romans 8:24-25).

Summary  ~  God’s saving process is from God Himself, through grace which is in Christ.  It is appropriate by faith in the resurrected Christ, and looks forward in the hope of His Second Coming.
