~ It Maybe Friday—But Sunday Will Soon Be Here! ~
“Good Friday” ~ “Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was
darkness over all the land” (Matthew 27:45).
Easter Sunday ~ “But the angel answered and said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid,
for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is
not here; for He is risen, as He said.
Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead,
and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you’” (Matthew
28:5-7).
Significance ~ Fortunately,
any open-minded individual who investigates the historical fact of The
Messiah’s resurrection from the dead will quickly discover that it is the most
thoroughly documented historical event of ancient times! Scripture sums the significance of the bodily
resurrection of Jesus Christ in this way:
“Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead,
how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead,
then Christ is not risen. And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching
is empty and your faith is also empty.
Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified
of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up—if in fact the dead
do not rise. For if the dead do not
rise, then Christ is not risen. And if
Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! Then also those who have fallen asleep in
Christ have perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ,
we are of all men the most pitiable” (1 Corinthians 15:12-19).
