Scripture Can Solve All Problems ~
Myth ~ This
is one of those myths based on a truth.
Scripture does have the correct solutions for all our problems on
earth—but Scripture does not solve, and cannot, solve all problems because of
the free will which God has chosen to give to mankind. Scripture does promise the believer a deep
inner joy and peace when they maintain their trust in God.
Reality
~ Jesus said, “These things I
have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation;
but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
Resource
~ “Blessed be the God and Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who
comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort
those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are
comforted by God. For as the sufferings
of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ. Now if we are afflicted, it is for your
consolation and salvation, which is effective for enduring the same sufferings
which we also suffer. Or if we are
comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. And our hope for you is steadfast, because we
know that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so also you will partake of
the consolation” (2 Corinthians 1:3-7).
False Teachers ~ Understanding
the truth of this post will keep one from falling for prevalent teaching of the
“Health and Wealth Gospel” proclaimed by many.
This comes in many forms such as: “God wants you to be rich,” “If you
have enough faith God will heal you,” “Give money to this organization and all
will go well in your life,” and so forth.
