~ Walk In New Citizenship ~
Series
Introduction ~ The New Testament has much to say about how a
believer should live their life.
Christians should never have to guess about the life that pleases
God. In this series we look at a variety
of passages that speak about the Christian walk on earth.
Scripture ~ “Brethren, join in
following my [Paul] example, and note those who so walk, as you have us
for a pattern. For many walk, of whom I
have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies
of the Cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and
whose glory is in their shame — who set their mind on earthly things. For our citizenship is in heaven, from
which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will
transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body,
according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to
Himself” (Philippians 3:17-21).
Comment ~ People
sometimes ask me about my heritage and I reply that I am a tri-citizen. When they inevitably look puzzled, I reply:
I’m a citizen of Canada where I was born, a citizen of the USA where I reside,
and then I point upwards and say my true citizenship is in heaven!
Quote ~ “To walk with someone means you are aware of their
presence. And this is true with
God. If you’re to walk with Him, you
must be continually aware of His presence.” —Kay Smith {Pleasing God)
